AnnaMaria Weclawek, Photographer
An exclusive interview with AnnaMaria Weclawek, an emerging local photographer with a sunny future.

HAUTERFLY: Describe yourself in a few words.
AnnaMaria: A rabbit in your headlights.
HAUTERFLY: What gets you excited?
AnnaMaria: When after work, I can go home and eat whole bag of “gummi bears” when watching a Wong Kar Wai movie.
HAUTERFLY: Your work is so beautiful and fresh. How do you come up with these ideas?
AnnaMaria: They are floating in the air and falling on my head like drops of rain. Splash. Intriguing shape, color, surface, light, image becomes an idea which is transforming into idée fixe. Then my brain starts bubbling, the bubbles start spinning and finally a fantastic explosion happens.
HAUTERFLY: The faces in your pictures are not a random selection. How do you approach your models?
AnnaMaria: It is some kind of magnetism of hearts. They are usually my friends. It seems like I can’t help myself and fall in love with those fabulous humans.
HAUTERFLY: What do you consider yourself to be — photographer, designer or both?
AnnaMaria: Ridiculous photographer.
HAUTERFLY: When did you start taking pictures?
AnnaMaria: A few years ago.
HAUTERFLY: What was your family?
AnnaMaria: Not dysfunctional.
HAUTERFLY: What is the next project you are working on?
AnnaMaria: It is a secret. I can only give away two words. Yoga and shoes.
HAUTERFLY: Where can people find your work?
AnnaMaria: Soon to be announced.
HAUTERFLY: What do you want to be when you grow up?
AnnaMaria: I want to be a clown.
